Adding a bead to an alternating knot hemp bracelet may appear challenging, but it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Your finished piece will look lacy. You can add to the effect by placing different beads to draw the eye to your intricate handiwork. Take the two center strands and move the outer hemp strands out of the way. Setting them to the side will help to avoid any confusion. Cut off about half an inch from the ends of the two strands to create an even edge so that the bead will thread more easily. Coat the tips of the center strands with beeswax so the two ends will stick together and will string the bead easier. Do this by holding the wax about half an inch from the end to the hemp strands. Push the wax against the string while pulling out towards the end of the strands. Bring the pieces you set aside back together.
