How Do You Add A New Light Fixture?

0

Adding a new light fixture is pretty simple to do. Most light fixtures come with easy to read instructions that you should read at least once, even if you have done it before. As long as you have the right tools and the right knowledge, you can easily add a new light fixture to any area of your home. Shut off the breaker for the room you are adding the light fixture to. Double-check it by using your electrical tester. Take the globe off the old light and remove the old light bulb. Unscrew the old light fixture. Disconnect the wires by removing the wire nuts from the old light fixture. Usually they are color coded. Put the new light fixture up using color coded wires. Black wires go on black, white goes on white and ground goes on ground. Black wire is the positive wire, the white wire is the negative wire, and the ground wire is the copper wire. Place the wire nuts on and make sure they are tight. Tape up the wire nuts using the black tape as a safety precaution. Screw the light fixtur
