How Do You Add A Background To Ms Excel Worksheet In Excel 2003?

The process to add a background is pretty simple, in itself. However, if you add a photo or graphic image that can make the content of the worksheet hard to see. It also can increase the file size of the workbook quite significantly. I create my backgrounds in Photoshop by first creating a new image, sized 1/2″ x 1/2″. Then, I add a light pastel fill color, usually a light blue. Lastly, I apply filters to the image to give it a sort of 3D effect. Most commonly I use the Sandstone texture. Then, save it as a JPG image. To apply a background go to Format > Sheet and select ‘Background’. Then, browse to the location of the image you wish to use and click ‘Insert’. To maximize the effect of the background I always remove ‘Gridlines’ and reapply cell borders as required. If you wish, I could forward several of my background images to you.
