There are many ways to raise funds for your charity, issue or event. The most commonly used methods are to apply for a grant from a governmental agency or a private foundation, hold an event such as an auction, or ask people directly, which can occur door-to-door, on the phone, or in public. Whatever format you choose for fund-raising, there are some steps you can take to achieve excellent fund-raising results and benefit your group. Write a brief introduction that states who you are, what the charity or cause is and what you need from the groups or people you are approaching.
