How Do You Access The Heating Unit In A G.E?

Repairing your own dryer may seem like a daunting task when you aren’t even sure how to get it open. Fortunately, it is relatively easy to access the inside of a G.E. Profile gas dryer, once you know how. The heating unit is in plain view once you have opened the dryer. With the dryer door open, find the retaining screws at the top panel. Unscrew them. Pull the top panel off. Find the two screws on the inside of the front panel. Unscrew these as well. Find the dryer belt. Gently unwind the belt and then remove the dryer drum. At this point, you will be able to access the heating unit and other internal parts.
