How do women assert themselves in the workplace?
• Women expect equal pay. In developing countries many women, particularly the laborers, are getting less than men. Social activists are raising their voice against this discriminatory practice. Women work the same hours with the same output and expect the same remuneration • Demand is also made for benefits such as maternity leave, part-time hours of work etc • Women are professional in their approach. They equip themselves with requisite skills • They are overcoming the stereotype images of them at work place • They are sincere in their work. Since they are aware that they have to assert themselves they remain dedicated to their work. They do not shirk their work responsibilities • Women do not take advantage of their femininity. They underplay it • Women dress appropriately. They avoid male attention at workplace • Several forums are there for them to voice their grievances. Organizations serving the interests of women help them in their endeavors to cope up with male discrimination
