As a child, one of the most prominent landmarks I can remember is the Dutch windmills. Every time someone would mention Holland to me, all that comes into my mind are these huge buildings with a large cross-like propeller. I thought that it was just one large electric fan that cools down the hot Dutch summers. Later on, I learned that the windmill is one contraption that can mill wheat into flour through the power of the wind. Such a great innovation! Nowadays, windmills are already given a new, contemporary design, and more than that, a significant power. Modern windmills do not just produce the needed mechanical energy – they have become the source of electricity. The windmills I mention here are those white structures resembling drinking straws with three-thronged propellers spread across a vast, windy field, and these provide energy for massive consumption.
