Your cat is insecure because of the trama that has been happening to him. What he is actually doing is trying to find you and make sure he is not abandoned again. He is saying, “Where are you?” and when you answer he is saying, “Please don’t let me be alone again.” He will in all likelihood get over it with time. Some cats are just more vocal than others. If he is a Siamese-type, he will be a talker. Some cats want to have conversations with humans. He seems to be a social kind of kitty. He will probably want more attention or at least want to be with you more than you might think. I adopted a stray who wouldn’t let me out of her sight. She went to the mailbox with me and even escorted me to the shower and waited for me outside of the tub. Don’t get rid of him because of a little talking. After all, he wouldn’t get rid of you.
