How do we Remove Ink or Black Spots & Rings From Furniture?
Oxalic Acid for Stains, Ink Stains, Black Rings & Mold Removal Strip the entire board or piece affected to get down to bare wood. Apply a mixture of Oxalic acid and water (approximatly 1 Tbl acid to 1 cup warm water) Brush on entire piece/board to keep color uniform. Repeat until stains are gone. Let dry, then wet down with white vinager to neutralize the acid. The dust from it will make you sneeze and is likely not too good to breath either. You will need to smooth out some raised grain (steel wool and some hard scrubbing works well) This works well for removing ink stains (and others) for laundry (white lace table cloths too) We still have a few pounds of this leftover from our furniture refinishing days and would be willing to sell you a pound or 2 $10 per pound.
