How do we make Philately cheap, since it is expensive?
The prices of everything are based on the availability of the item, versus the demand for it. If a stamp is rare, the more people that want it, the more expensive it will be. You could always collect stamps that are not rare, but simply interesting, and cheap. That would be a great way to solve your dilemma. I would begin by buying up other stamp collections that no one wants (cheap), and then putting them into an orderly system. You could really have an enjoyable hobby.
