How Do We Keep Our Water Resources Clean?
The greatest resource that is available to man is the Earth’s many water resources. From lakes and streams to oceans and rivers, the Earth is made up of about 70 percent water. But because 90 percent of that water is salt based, it is not consumable. This is why it is so important that we keep our water resources clean for years to come. Properly dispose of waste and lard. Discard waste and cooking oils in a trash receptacle. Allow it to harden, and never pour it down the sink. Recycle all plastics and bottles. Maintain a recycle bin in the home, and properly sort materials by type. For example: paper, plastics and glass. Dispose of tampons in the trash, and never flush them down the toilet. Limit water runoff when watering your lawns. Chemicals and pesticides from your lawn can drain into the sewage system and pollute the water resources. Use natural fertilizers when possible.
