How do we get from Stavanger to Haugesund?
There is a fast boat service (foot passengers only) that takes about 1.5 hours called Flaggruten, run by TIDE (previously called HSD) and a regular coach service called Kystbussen that takes 2 hours. There is no direct flight. The quickest road for cars is the E 39, with undersea tunnels, bridges and ferries – it takes about 2 hours. You can also take the ferry from Mekjarvik (just north of Stavanger) to Skudeneshavn at the south end of Karmøy and take RV 47 to Haugesund (there is a bridge at the north end on Karmoy). It is NOT possible to go on the DFDS car ferry – it takes international traffic only.
