How do we ensure that Everyday Math moves up to 6th grade?
We have heard interest in this from a few parents and the Math Committee is looking into this. At this time, there are no plans to use Everyday Math in sixth grade. Parents will receive a letter with a password and instructions so they can see their student’s information. • It seems like the online portal is going to require much more time for teachers to complete. Will it be continuously and fairly updated? Expectations for posting have been developed and teachers will do their best to keep their gradebook current. Some projects may take longer than others. • The parent portal sounds interesting. How can parents avoid the tendency to micromanage or over-react to data points out of context? It will take some time for parents to get used to the new system, and some may over-react at first.
