How do we capture non-physician providers for the HCP entity (for programs like Supportive Care)?
For the Supportive Care clinic visits it is necessary to capture the provider specialty. The HCP file must be updated with the non-physician’s numbers and corresponding specialty if available. Otherwise, a generic number must be created to identify the specialties required for the programs. Mandatory collection for non-physician specialties include: 12000 Social Worker 11003 RN Practitioner 06000 Dietician 15000 Psychologist 18000 Alternative Healer 16000 Pastor/Clergy 11006 Clinical Nurse Specialist 00064 Psychiatrist For consistency, the option to use the specialty codes as the generic HCP numbers is advised.
