How do we accommodate several end users in the same room who are using the iCommunicator program on their computers?
If there are several iCommunicator end users in a classroom, worksite, or other setting, there are some easy steps to follow to ensure that everyone is receiving the text-to-speech-to-sign data efficiently on their own computer: 1. Each computer must have the iCommunicator program installed on it, that is, a license for each computer. 2. The speaker does not need to create a new speech/voice recognition file for each end user’s computer. Simply create one file and then transfer it to the other computers via infrared, back up on a CD, Zip Drive, Flash Drive or server. The speaker should calibrate the microphone for each computer by running the audio wizard (Options>Speech Recognition>Run Audio Wizard). There are directions in the Users Guide and HELP file that address this topic. If the speaker updates his/her speech/voice file, repeat the process so that the current version of the speaker’s speech/voice profile will be on each end user’ computer. 3.
