How do volcanoes change earths surface?
Volcanoes are structural upwellings of the planet’s fiery interior through cracks in the rock crust and they ARE a change to earth’s surface. Lava frequently flows from volcanoes and has played a part in changing the earth’s surface by filling in lowlands and increasing the exterior size of the volcano itself. Some volcanoes are so violent that magma can explode from their openings and alter the surrounding topography for miles around with its fallout.
