How do violet wands work?
Inside a violet wand there are basically two components; a coil that breaks down the electricity, and a capacitor that steps it up to high frequency. The high frequency current is passed through a gas-filled glass tube. The electricity excites the gas the same way it works upon neon signs, and they glow purple. Then the electricity is emitted at the end of the glass electrode.
