How do video games encourage violence?
Video games encourage violence because video games are designed so that the player of the game imagines he/she is in the game not just as an outside observer but one that is actively participating. If the game is violent, the player performs the violent acts in the game, this may translate into violent physical actions. I have often seen children play acting hitting and doing karate kicks after playing games and then progressing to actual physical contact. This does not happen in all cases. If there are safeguards in the child’s life, violence though encouraged in the game is not realized in the real world.
