How do victims know if they are eligible to receive restitution?
If victims believe they should receive restitution, they should discuss that concern with their Victim/Witness staff person or the district attorney who prosecuted the offender during trial. These claims need to be brought to the attention of the Judge at the time of sentencing, so that they can be considered when ordering restitution.
