How Do Upright Freezers Work?
Upright Freezer Basics Upright freezers are appliances that stand about 5 feet tall and look like a refrigerator. They have one large door that takes up almost the complete front of the machine and inside they have three of four shelves for storing products with clear visibility. Since the door is so large, when you open it, a large amount of warm air interacts with the cold air inside the freezer, which can drastically affect the upright freezer’s performance if you hold the door open too long or if you open the door frequently. Make sure you know what you want inside the freezer, then reach in, grab it quickly and shut the door firmly to maintain optimal performance.
