For starters the correct name of the sport is Association FOOTBALL not soccer. F.I.F.A. is the world governing body of football and unlike American football, Canadian football and Australian rules football, Association football teams and countries play under the same rules and are answerable to the world governing body. F.I.F.A. has a membership of 208 countries. The United Nations only has a membership of 192 countries. Obviously FOOTBALL is more important than world peace.
