You would then work out from the parents’ phenotype what their genotype would be using these codes, then you need to find all the possible combinations of B and D that can come from that one parent. For example, if you have a BBDD parent, the only gametes possible would be BD. If you had a BBDd parent, you could either have BD gametes or Bd gametes. A parent with BdDd would be most complicated as you could have four types of gamete (BD, bd, Bd, bD). You then draw a normal punnet square with each of the types of possible gamete (e.g. BD, bd, etc) in the squares along the top row and left-hand column and do the normal combination of the genotypes in the remaining squares to find the offspring genotypes.
