Function Basically, one end of a metal bar is attached firmly to the chassis of a vehicle, and the opposite end of this bar acts as a lever, that is attached to the axle. As the wheel turns, the bar spins around and provides torsion resistance. Depending on the length of the bar, different effects are achieved. Pros and Cons Though torsion axles are much sturdier than other suspension enhancers, and are more durable, they have a tendency to not provide a progressive spring rate. Special torsion axles are fabricated with this issue in mind, but they are still not as durable as the real thing, and have a tendency to crack and break.
