How do they get seedless oranges?
This does seem strange, doesn’t it? How did they plant the trees if the fruit bear no seed? The general idea is that hybrid plants are developed using various techniques like crossing different strains of orange together, and manipulating the strains in other ways. The result is that you can plant a seed that will bear seedless fruit. You might have an occasional vestigial, non-viable seed appearing in some of those oranges, but they would not germinate. You just have to take care of the hybrid strains that produce the original seeds. A similar idea is that you can breed various related animal species to produce non-viable offspring. Various ways of breeding horses and donkeys will bring this about.
