How do they get along with the Islamic Tradition?
The Turkish Islamic culture exists in Istanbul and I accept it. In the more eastern parts of the city, the people are pretty tough with tradition and religion. You know, there’s a club where young people go to rave, and 500 meters away there’s a mosque. Modern people and traditional people collide in Istanbul, but somehow everyone goes their own way. They’re not listening to each other but always interacting, just like ants. The population of Istanbul is maybe something around 16 million. You can’t avoid the interaction.
