How do they determine what day Ash Wednesday falls on?

0

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. It is determined by the day of Easter. Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. Once that day is found, you count backwards 40 days (not counting the Sundays) and you will land on a Wednesday (always) and that Wednesday is Ash Wednesday.
