These standard oilfield practices are used to temporarily fix production problems. Biochemicals are quite distinct from these methods in that they are a long-term solution whose impacts endure for months at a time and work continuously to achieve significant changes in the near-well-bore area and in the oil itself. Viewed in another way, the biochemicals set up shop in the near well-bore area and produce ketones, alcohols, surfactants and other chemical reactants which eliminate the need for the operator to supply them. Its like having a chemical factory in each well.
