How do the waitlists work and who manages them?
While central office oversees waitlist management policies to ensure fairness and equity across schools, each school manages its own waitlist. If a school received more applications for a particular grade than it has seats available, all those who were not accepted were automatically placed on the waitlist. In addition, anyone who approaches the school after the lottery takes place will be added to the bottom of the waitlist in first-come first-served order.
