How do the transportation rules of the ADA define “wheelchair?
The ADA transportation rules have a very specific definition of a wheelchair. It may be three or four wheeled, manual or powered. However, it may not exceed 30 inches by 48 inches or weigh more than 600 pounds when occupied.
