While Veolia Transportation Services reports to the city as per its contract the bus operators, mechanics, service workers, and administrative staff are employees of the company. Veolia is presently negotiating with its three unions: Operating Engineers Local 248 (mechanics) and General Teamsters Local 104 (maintenance staff) which have negotiation extension until July 25, 2010; and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1433 (bus operators) which has a negotiation extension until September 30, 2010.
