Interestingly enough, they don’t really differ that much. But you have to remember that the early star gazers were looking at a different sky because of their location. Chinese Astrology actually corresponds with western quite well. The Rat starts in the North where Sagittarius starts and each sign corresponds to the next sign in the exact same order. So do the descriptions. Vedic signs are pretty much the same as wester but their is a 24 degrees difference. This means that if you were an Aries then your Vedic sign would probably (not always) be in Pisces. Another difference is that Vedic is based on moon cycles so if you have a moon in Gemini -24 degrees you would have your moon in Taurus and that would be the sign that you would tell people about in that culture.
