How do the personnel certifications relate to the proposed American National Standard for Green Globes?
The process to establish Green Globes as the first American National Standard for new commercial green buildings is expected to conclude toward the end of 2009. Once the standard is finalized and approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the standard has been embodied in a new online assessment tool, Green Globes Assessors for New Construction may apply for and pursue the new Green Globes Certified Assessor certification. Unique minimum qualifications, training, exams, and mentorship requirements are anticipated for the Green Globes Certified Assessor program. Existing GGAs will be given preference and opportunity to pursue the new credentials. Once the Certified Assessor credential is available for both New Construction and Existing buildings, and sufficient overlap has been provided to support certification of buildings already in process with the current NC and CIEB protocols, the original GGA designation will be phased out.
