How do the Naughtiness ratings get assigned?
When a joke is first uploaded to JokeBox, it is given an initial rating by the submitter. After that, A-Hole Patrol assigns their ratings during the joke review process. Once it gets posted to the website, each and every member of the community gets to chime in by clicking the rating above the joke that they think best reflects how risque it is. Each night we take the average of all the users’ ratings and the joke is then given this average rating.
