How do the Friends raise funds?
In addition to membership dues, the Friends operate the Wildlife Images bookstore located in the lobby of the National Wildlife Visitor Center and the very popular Wildlife Conservation Interpretive Tram tour on the Refuge. Fundraising events are held throughout the year, most notably, the annual Patuxent Wildlife Art Show and Sale in the Spring. The Friends also seek and administer research grants from concerned foundations, organizations and individual donors. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
