Everyone can understand that the engine’s power defines the choice of propeller diameter, but the propeller’s RPM is actually the predominant factor, and that RPM depends more on the reduction gear box (reduction ratio or direct engine) than engine type. This is why a Rotax 503 may need the same propeller diameter than a Rotax 912ULS.
