How do the dates of the legislative session coincide with school terms?
For quarter system students, the 60 day session (even years) coincides with the dates of winter quarter at most schools, since it runs from early January to mid-March. In 105 day sessions (odd years), interns attending quarter system schools may end their internships at the end of their winter quarter. Subject to legislative approval, students may stay beyond winter quarter for the full 105 days. For semester system students, the internships conclude at the end of the session, whether 60 days or 105 days. Most semester system schools accommodate interns by a variety of arrangements, such as having them work on their academic requirement for the internship after session ends.
