How do the cost of fiber A/V systems compare to traditional A/V systems?
Fiber optic A/V systems have higher equipment costs that are often partially offset by lower installation costs. A single fiber can carry multiple signals, reducing the amount of cable that needs to be installed. Cable installation costs may even be eliminated if an existing fiber infrastructure is being used. Many of the benefits of long distance transmission, electrical isolation, and future-proofing often outweigh the higher equipment costs.
