How do the campervans and the larger motorhomes handle mountainous terrain or narrow roads?
The little campervans have strong engines for their weight. They have no problem going up hills and mountains. They are quite agile and although you sit higher up than in a station wagon the campervan is actually not more bulky to handle. The motorhomes give you a more truck-like feeling when driving. They are good fun to drive, though, even on the narrow roads, as you find many in Tuskany or Spain. Always remember, these roads are travelled every day by trucks much bigger than the mobile home you are driving.
