How do the blood and lymph systems work together?

0

Simple terms: The blood delivers water & nutrients through small and smaller arterial vessels till it is flowing through capillaries. These allow leakage of water/nutrients between the lining cells of the capillary wall so it can get out to the cells of the rest of your body. Once out, water might cross back via the capillary or instead, it ,ay travel back through the “sideroads” of the body’s interstate system, the lymphatic channels. These gradually coalesce to larger and larger lymphatic roads until they hit the main channel, the thoracic duct. This duct empties back into the venous system which flows into the right side of the heart. Another way they work together is to provide a complete circuit through which immune cells cells can travel to properly police the body.
