How do the abusing priests reconcile their vile actions with their spiritual calling?

1) How do the abusing priests reconcile their vile actions with their spiritual calling? I don’t think they do. I think they probably entered the priesthood either in hopes of escaping their perversion (by God-supported celibacy) or in hopes that they would have a greater opportunity to prey upon children. In the first case, the person could not reconcile his actions with his calling – because he would be committing the very sin he was trying to avoid. In the second, the person never had a calling in the first place and realizes it, or has some demented view that he is permitted by God to abuse children and is an incorrigible and unrepentant pedophile.
