Curtatone announces that applications are now available for the 2008 Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program. Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 2nd at the Personnel Office in City Hall. The Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program is a public-private employment partnership whereby teens are placed in paid jobs in both city government and local private sector businesses throughout July and August. “Sufficient employment opportunities are some of the biggest issues facing Somerville youth today,” Mayor Curtatone said. “We are fortunate to have a dedicated and invested business community to partner with the City of Somerville in our efforts to provide adequate, beneficial opportunities to a growing number of teens.
