How do tankless water heaters compare to conventional water heaters?
Conventional water heaters are basically large containers that store tens of gallons of water (typically between 40 to 80 gallons) and continually reheat the water so that it is hot when it is needed. When hot water leaves the tank, it is replaced by cold water, which is then heated, and the cycle repeats. There are obvious downsides to conventional water heaters: they take up a lot of space, and they waste considerable energy and money by keeping water heated 24/7, whether it is needed or not.
