How do supermarkets dispose of expired food?
I believe that every supermarket chain is different considering their policies of the disposal of expired food, but one place that I know in particular will take their nearly expired food and sell them to either small convenience stores or perhaps even local community stores at a fraction of the full retail cost. However, there are some that will just simply donate the food to the local food bank or church to hand out to the needy.
