How do Superior Walls perform relative to the 2003 IRC Code?

0

The new IRC code includes new regulations on basement insulation requirements with increased R-values in the range of R-8 to R-11, depending on region. Whereas all foundation systems will require additional on-site insulation, Superior Walls is the only foundation system that does not require additional framing to accommodate the extra insulation. The extra insulation is simply installed between the existing wall cavities. Plus, the original R-5 Superior Walls system needs less extra insulation than traditional block or poured foundations to meet the new code requirements. The new Superior Walls Xi Wall (Xi stands for “extra insulation”) offers an R-value of 12.5 built right in, and does not require the installation of additional on-site insulation.
