How do suicide hotlines trace phone calls for someone who is threatning suicide ?
from watching Law and Order (a TV show) a lot i know that if its a home phone it doesnt take much effort at all they just have to go through the landline Database, for cell phones they find out where the closer phone towers (usually like 3 are) to a signal and can then find out that your somewhere around a certain area, once they know where your at they just call the cops on you. and i imagine who calls 911 is a 2nd person thats not on the phone talking to you because they would have people taking the calls and others tracking the people that call.
