How do students know which courses they can take and how many they can take through NCSSM Online?
Students who accept an invitation or are directly accepted into the NCSSM Online program will complete a registration process where he/she identifies which courses he/she would like to complete. Course pre-requisites are listed on this website. However, the NCSSM Online counselor and staff will review each student’s needs and academic background to determine if they are academically prepared to take a particular course. Successful completion of first-year courses taken is required for enrollment in second-year courses. Most students will have a larger variety of courses to choose from for the second year, as more prerequisites will have been met, and as more courses are added to the program.

However, students will not be enrolled in a class until orientation, when they have an opportunity to learn more about the program and individual courses. The NCSSM Online counselor and staff will review each student’s needs and academic background to determine if they are academically prepared to take a particular course. Successful completion of first-year courses taken is required for enrollment in second-year courses.
