How do students enroll in a Moodle course?
The preferred method is to use automatic enrollment. The course code for the course is supplied in the Course ID field (in the course settings) and the course is set to “Not Enrollable” (also in the course settings). Students will then be enrolled and unenrolled automatically. If particular students are not enrolled the underlying problem must be addressed in WebSurf. If this is unsuitable (e.g., no course code) then an “Enrolment Key” can be used. This is a “secret” pass-phrase that is inserted into the Course Settings page (and the course set to “Enrollable”). The key is given only to users requiring access. They will be asked for it the first time they attempt to access the course. As a last resort students can be enrolled and unenrolled completely manually via the “Assign Roles” option in the Course Administration block.
