Well, as already mentioned, there’s no electricity used from the home supply to power this type of security lighting. What actually happens is this; the solar lights work by using small solar panels. These panels take the sun’s energy during the daytime and store it into the light’s internal batteries. These batteries become charged up and are used to power energy efficient light at night. Once day breaks, the solar panels capture the sun’s energy once again, and so the power supply is always charged up and ready to use. After dark, the lights are usually triggered automatically by sensors or manually by a switch, just in the same way as the wired models illuminate the areas.
