A solar panel is placed outside of the outdoor fountain. A cord connects the fountain to its solar panel. When the sun’s rays strike the panel, it will power the fountain’s water pump, which will make the water flow. The solar panels, however, do not actually store any energy, therefore, the solar powered fountain only works if the sun is shining, and will not, therefore, be operational at night or during an extremely dark storm. Is the solar panel a separate unit? The tiered solar fountains have solar panels that usually operate up to fifteen feet away from the outdoor fountain itself.
