How do sociologists calculate prejudice?
Sociologists can measure prejudice by taking surveys are researching information given to them by people. The problem with this is that since prejudice is an attitude or emotion it is impossible to accurately calculate, and any data or answer they formulate is subjective and not provable. Surveys and answer worksheets are all dependent on a persons honesty and self awareness. Often someone who is prejudice may not even be aware that they are, or if they do know it, they may not wish to answer accurately because they see it as being a negative trait.
